Restricted Performance 3.0 SDV6

Hi,

I have a 2011 RRS and its come up with restricted performance and the fault is;
P0488 - Exhaust gas recirculation throttle position control range/performance.

Is this likely to be a faulty EGR or maybe even the DPF?
Its done 60k and has been a mix of driving.

Thanks

Yes, what I thought, but 2 new egr's and throttle valve and it is still the same.

Could be an ECU issue then. Sad 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Thanks for the quick reply.

Was just wondering if there were any 'curve ball' issues with this code ie something unrelated causing this as otherwise it is indeed looking like an ecu. Thumbs Up

How much faith do you have in the establishment that installed the new parts? I seem to recall cases where EGRs were damaged during installation or not fitted properly.

The P0488 code is only a generic code so scanning the vehicle with a LR specific tool might reveal other codes giving you more insight to the problem.

Wiring faults are more common than ECU failure so checking continuity of all related wires and connectors and earths is always recommended.
