An RWD car on good winters will dance round a 4WD on summers |

One things for sure you have a great car fitted with the correct tyres for the conditions. |

Was up the chilterns myself today too, I have M & S tyres at least so nowhere as goods as winters but was pleased at how sure footed she was in the snow.

Just think if half of those RWD cars had winter tyres even on the rear wheels and a couple of big bags of sand in the boot over the driving wheels they might not have got stuck....... I remember in the 1960’s my Dad always carried several heavy bags of sand in the boot of his RWD cars and rarely got stuck even on the less technical tyres that they had back then. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I'm in the chilterns too, and I'm lucky to have a small fleet of 4x4s

I always thought the same. Put winter wheels with decent tyres on my wife's BMW M135i and struggled to get back into my property through slush. Just couldn't get any traction despite trying all usual tricks. Managed it in the end but was hard work. SVR on standard 22" rubber had no issues whatsoever and my thoughts on winter tyres has changed. |
