Insurance claims management companies

Hi folks,

Got rear ended a couple of months ago, minor damage to my lower bumper, but other car was a mess!
Although the claim and repair procedure was easy and painless, the number of calls from these parasitic / annoying / scamming bastards has been far more stressful! I've lost count of the number of blocked callers I now have on my phone!
My question is, is there any way to force my insurance company (Ageas via A-Plan in this case) not to divulge ANY information to third parties, under pain of legal action if necessary? No wonder insurance premiums have gone through the roof over the years.
A company called First Response are one of the worst, got me straight on the offensive when they said, "..an accident that you WAS involved in."

Thanks in advance You can't see the eyes of the demon until him come callin'

you could request APlan to not divulge, but then they need to divulge details to garages, inspectors and so on, so it could be those further down the line thats sharing details

I just tell them i was, and list off broken legs, arms, decapitation and burns and so on, then once i was told they could claim monies for my family left behind Shocked

scum of the earth

Yep, might try that, but will make the "request" (only once) with a firearm to ensure they get the message. Wink You can't see the eyes of the demon until him come callin'

Not helped by people insisting on having like-for-like courtesy cars when their Aston/Ferrari/Range Rover is being repaired. We all pay for that. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I'm not so sure it'll be the insurers passing on details, I also get spates of calls about a previous accident I had, but I've never been involved in an accident.

If I have spare time when they call I usually lead them on for a while for a laugh, just making things up as I go (also do for the computer virus calls). One time I got carried away and said although it was the 3rd parties fault as he crashed into me when I was in the ditch, I had been very drunk so ran from the scene then buried my car in my garden with my digger....the 'foreign' caller spent a few minutes actually going over my story in amazement before my wife gave the game away by giggling in the background. The 'foreign' caller told me to Censored off, then hung up. Maybe childish but it's fun at the time and is satisfying knowing I've wasted the spam callers time. 13MY Range Rover Sport Autobiography SDV6 - mine

Standard answer is "yes, I did have an accident but I died...can you help?" Rolling with laughter Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Get on to A Plan and complain to them that your data has illegally been sold on to a 3rd party without your consent. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW
