Lack of stealer competition here in Perth with both being owned by the same group. I am paying less than that for a new V8SC. Gone - 2008 Stornoway Grey RRS 2.7 TDV6

If I had not wanted a change I would have purchased the R Line touareg in the V8 Diesel. If you want more pose the Porsche in the same engine is less dollars than the RRS in the V8. IMO these are great all WD vehicles and are well sorted. I think my next car will be a V6 diesel Amarok , done up for real off road touring . Love to be able to fit a bull bar and some accessories to get into the center of Oz. M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW. |

why bother with the 3.0 SCV6? rather go for the 5.0 SCV8, it's more economical than the V6 and a lot more fun to drive -- 2010 Defender Puma 90 + BAS remap + Alive IC + Slickshift + Ashcroft ATB rear 2015 Range Rover Sport Supercharged V8 HSE Dynamic Defender Puma Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zZ1en9 Discovery 4 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zXrtKO Range Rover/Sport L320/L322/L494 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zc58JQ |

yep, that's the feedback I got - turns out that you have to drive the SCV6 pretty hard to get the performance, and thus the consumption suffers. --

Naks how many Rand for a RRS in SA? I remember when I was there in 73 the Rand was on par with the Aussie dollar. M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW. |

As far as I am aware the only petrol engine version of the RRS available with Dynamic Response is the 5L Supercharged V8 all other petrol engines since 2010 (globally) have not been available with it even as an option. A RRS without Dynamic Response is not a proper RRS. |

Brand new, they start at R1.1 million for the S, and go all the way to 2.2 for the SVR -- 2010 Defender Puma 90 + BAS remap + Alive IC + Slickshift + Ashcroft ATB rear 2015 Range Rover Sport Supercharged V8 HSE Dynamic Defender Puma Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zZ1en9 Discovery 4 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zXrtKO Range Rover/Sport L320/L322/L494 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zc58JQ |

I can verify that this is true. My 2010 Sport had 375 hp and 375 lb/ft of torque (non supercharged) and the mileage was about the same as my Velar with the 3.0 P380 V6. The Velar ends up being slightly quicker due to being 400 lbs lighter (approx) but yeah you have to rev the out of the engine to get close to the claimed 5.3 0-60 times. There goes the fuel savings. Plus the V6 just feels and sounds like it's working so hard. The V8 has so much torque that off the line it just goes and is so smooth. I will never get a Range Rover with this V6 again. It's the only thing I don't like about the Velar but I had 3 V8 vehicles in a row and my senses were conditioned by them (2 Audis, 1 Sport). Other people won't mind as much and are not lead footed like I am. LR should have offered an "autobiography" version of the Velar with a V8 but I guess they're holding it back to drive sales on an SVR version next year. I honestly don't know how people can be happy with the heavier Sport with this same P380 engine. for me only the V8 is acceptable. Supercharged and SVR version even better. If I could get a bigger and higher Velar with the Sport SVR engine I would be so happy -- hopefully that is what the next generation Sport will be like. Time will tell. 2018 Range Rover Sport SVR – Bosphorus Grey |

"Problem is people in the US dont pay what the rest of the world pays." I understand this to be true due to trade tariffs and taxes etc, but it must be all relative across the lineup. A loaded First Edition is $91k US and the same configuration in a Sport is $96k -- so close in price and people are having a problem with that. I personally didn't because I just see it as a smaller Range Rover and didn't care about where it "sits in the family". I don't care about bragging rights etc. Anyway Velar's aren't significantly cheaper here but I suspect the lower spec versions are what are selling well. Not the First Edition with every option ticked. At that price point it's tempting for people to just leave off a few options on the Sport and the price is the same or lower. Remember that there is also price overlap with a Sport Autobiography and a FFRR. It's nothing new. I went with a Velar because it fits in my garage (barely) and the design is fresh and I really like it. Wasn't about price at all. 2018 Range Rover Sport SVR – Bosphorus Grey |
