A few seem to use the GAP IID BT Tool, but at over £400...it won`t be for me. Steve.

Unfortunately the best and most reliable and capable of most things is the GAP Diagnostic IID BT Tool, but as stated at £400+VAT it isn't cheap, but does do so much more, besides just code reading (which are recognised ones, instead of cheap readers which give generic codes which are of no use on these vehicles).
You can alter suspension heights, do tuning, turn on/off options available etc. If you can afford it, it is the only one worth bothering with IMHO, also you get excellent customer service and can contact them with any problems in the UK, there are a couple of other reasonable ones, but again not cheap. Sorry. John

Yes, they can be used with any iPhone, but even easier to see/use with any iPad or iPad Pro model, it can also run although obviously not quite as well, or showing so much info at once, on the cars TFT display in between the Rev counter and Speedo, using the controls on steering wheel to go through the various settings/adjustments and programs etc. (Android software too). Good as a fall back, or if you don't have any Apple/IOS equipment.

The IID tool just plugs into the socket underneath the steering wheel panel, and can be left in when testing and driving short distances to get other live data/info etc, it can of course give live info while stationary and in tick over. There is a full manual for everything you can do and how to do it, just remember to back up first before altering system critical processes, mostly done automatically, but if not do manually before altering settings just in case it's wrong. The latest manual from the GAP Diagnostic website is V30, and if IID Tool needs updating, it should currently be on V3. When doing fault code checks, it doesn't just give you the code but also what fault and description of error it has found, as well as the date and time first logged. It also of course does simple stuff to, like reset service indicator, clear all error codes etc. Hope that helps. Smile
They do appear on here in for sale section, and EBay, don't forget there will be a charge to add your VIN to unlock it for use. John

I use the hawkeye from Bearmach, not as good as the GAP but I've never been stuck with it. They have a new one out now too, and the faults have the proper codes to them.

Wouldn`t this be ok as a basic code reader without the bells and whistles?

Watch the for sale forum, seems monthly a GAP tool comes up for sale. I bought new and it's a great piece of kit to have without any major vehicle projects on the go. 2018 Telsa MS

those 2 are for older models than yours.

I know its annoying having to pay £400 when you see code readers on ebay for £30.

but the IID does everything! I hope. Talks to all ECU's, programs keys, adjusts suspension, enables things
