Yet, 55% here say they do that. I am not seeing the benefit of dropping a huge lump of wonga down on something that will drop in value like a stone the moment you drive it out of the showroom and continue to do so. Isn't it better to use the £ for more productive things and cough up £225 a week on a lease deal? To be honest that sounds better than paying cash,,when my14 AB was new it would have been about 82-84k & now it's worth about 44-48k so when it's 4 year old it will be worth about 40k so 42-44k loss against your £2600 down & £890 a month works out at just over 45k so no difference really if I'd have bought new in 14. Ive got a guy pestering me to sell him mine at 48.5k tomorrow & I paid £60.844 13 month ago so if I sell tomorrow ive lost £13,344 a grand a month,,I'm thinking leasing is probably best option next time & use my cash for something else. I totally get it from a contractor point of view. Money pours into your bank for a few months then you might have three months of nothing. In that situation, especially with dire interest rates, I'd probably do an outright buy or a big deposit deal.

My current RRS is on an LR PCP but have bought cars using bank loans and even HP (low low rate compared to the loans and PCP when I did it) and once paid on my personal Platinum Amex Card to get 55,000 points that at the end of the year I can donate to a charity via Amex - I give mine to Great Ormond Street Hospital annually. Dealer agreed to it but the trader fees for them to Amex were high....... I was buying a completely new launch car so couldn't get any discount so it cost the dealer in another way. I was surprised that they agreed to it. The interest free period gave me more time to look round for better finance deals than LR were offering too. I think the last car I paid cash for was my first car - a Ford Fiesta 1.1L bought from my Mum! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I might have to start reading the warranty topics more closely now. Are they squirming out of honouring their own warranty? Get a 2005-2009 RRS (FAH500210) sat nav/dash mat here - the one that wasn't there when you bought the car.

Not as big as an RRS and it will fit in my garage which no modern Land Rover does, i’ve Just placed an order for the new Mini Countryman PHEV after an extended (96 hour) test drive - quieter than my L494 in both electric and petrol modes, 60mpg on petrol, 26 miles on electric only, very comfortable seating and the suspension beats any steel sprung Land Rover hands down. I don’t carry many passengers or tons of gear in the boot but the rear seats get family approval for comfort and ease of access and the boot is quite bi enough for me. £10 a year VED, no Rich Bastard Luxury Car Tax and the batteries charge in 2.5hours from a 13 amp socket and <30 minutes on a public rapid charger, I can also recharge using my home solar array and not stop exporting to the grid on a brighter day........... That is what i’m Replacing my totally reliable 2015.5MY with in April 2018, only because LR refuses to allow their insurer to cover the crankshaft issue.......... 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
