Lookers LR West London - Home Visit

I was offered a home visit for a software update to my car. Obviously LR Assist can come to you at home or anywhere else but that is more for problems rather than routine bookings. This was the first "dealer home visit" for me and I have to say it is a great idea. The technician arrived with his kit, performed the update and went on his way all in a matter of 15 minutes. Saved me so much time and hassle. Highly recommended service when possible. Big thanks! Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top

Sounds like an idea for scammers to take up! Drive past your house, read where your car was purchased from your number plate, find your phone number from your address, ring up purporting to be from the garage, arrive to do a software update, take the keys from you, and, hey presto, no car!

(This cynical suggestion is no reflection on Lookers, by the way, they are an excellent company whom I have briefly had the pleasure of doing business with).

Hi James. Good to hear from you. All well on my side. Just had second service and everything went smoothly this time. I agree ... cynical and far-fetched. I am not saying a wannabe scammer can't try it but the owner has to bear some (all?) responsibility for not doing their own due diligence and falling for that by handing over the key IMHO.

I personally think anyone who wishes there were more hours in the day would appreciate a home visit to carry out simple service operations that don't necessarily require being in a workshop. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top
