confused? engine spec My15 My15.5 ?

Hi,
looking for a RRS2 and the deal we had on a My16 65 plate has fallen through Rolling Eyes so still looking
and
bit confused with the engine specs in these model years Question

My16 in the cars title (306hp) 700Nm and euro6 with stop/start and adblue that's all good
My14.5 in cars title (292hp) 600Nm and euro5 ok got that.

believe My15 started end of 2014 (are they 600Nm) and My15.5 from March2015 (700Nm?) But what engine hp and more importantly the Nm and g/km Question

did they have to be EU6 from start of 2015

Reason being I have looked at a car (no Hp figure in title) and land rovers web site shows £280 tax so not expecting it to be a 700Nm, asked for a TOPix to be printed to confirm spec, registered end April2015 and it shows engine as 225/700 but EU5 emissions to confuse me even more the V5 shows 185k/km the £240 tax ?

anyone know for sure Thumbs Up

My understanding is that for it to be Euro 6 it has to be first registered on or after 01/09/15.
Not sure that this helps with your question at all, but it may be relevent if you intend to drive It into London/city centres in the future.

Take everything you read on the LR website with a pinch of salt, many cars are listed incorrectly. The easiest way to check what engine it has is to stick the reg number in the DVLA/Gov tax checker website.

Euro6 306hp/700nm engines started to come in from MY15.5 (March 2015) ready for the mandatory switch over in September, so you will find them in some MY15.5 15 plates. My16 started Sep 2015 on the 65 plate, all MY16 cars are Euro6.

All Euro6 engines are 306hp/700nm, 185 g/km, £230pa road fund.

Oldandconfused - Euro 6 legislation had to be implemented by all manufacturers by the 1st of September 2015, which meant they couldn't sell anything 'new' that wasn't compliant after that date. LR started to make the switch in March for MY15.5, and by September they had everything in place for the MY16. SOLD - MY16 SDV6 Autobiography Dynamic - Fire Engine Red, Fixed contrast pan roof, TV, Dual Screen, 5+2, Privacy, Noble paddles.

Hi,
thanks both Thumbs Up

I was a bit out thinking EU6 came in for March 2015 then Embarassed

KM I had seen another thread of yours about My15/My16 specs Thumbs Up and have checked the Gov site for tax and it is coming up at £240

Is it possible Landrover listed the 306/700Nm My15.5 from March to Sept as EU5 for some reason Rolling Eyes yet it is still 185k/km tax band

Thumbs Up

That's my understanding. Although the engines were capable of complying with Euro 6 before that date and the emissions were the same, if registered before 01/09/15, they were classified as Euro 5.
I may of course be completely wrong, in which case I'm sure someone will come along and correct me Smile .

RB - to answer your questions/statements...

EU6 was mandatory from September 2015, but LR started to introduce the EU6 hengine in March 2015 (MY15.5). that's why some 15 plate cars are EU5 and some are EU6. To confuse matters even further the LR website at one point catagosied ALL 15 plate cars as EU5, but they seem to have sorted that. Still worth double checking though if it's a 15 plate car you're interested in.

Looks like they've increased the cost by £10pa in that band. Mine was £230 last year, but you're right the DVLA website now says it'll be £240 this year.

Very possible, they are dickheads.

Thumbs Up SOLD - MY16 SDV6 Autobiography Dynamic - Fire Engine Red, Fixed contrast pan roof, TV, Dual Screen, 5+2, Privacy, Noble paddles.

I thought it was just me losing the plot trying to look at the spec of so many cars

after all its so unlike Landrover to play about with specs and make model changers through out the year Laughing

Think this means I will have to look at more car details now and not just tick the box for (306hp) engine only

Thumbs Up
