after a nice 3.6 tdv8 model
very hard get a nice one in this country

anything to watch out for on these compared to 2.7?
any help or advise please
google throws up a string of turbo issues

how reliable are they?

I have a 2012 3.0TDV6 which I bought from a main dealer in Dublin 2 years ago. I got a good warranty which has got good usage. Have to say I love the car so that outweighs the issues.

My tips would be Full Service History, Get someone with knowledge to look at car if you don't know much yourself. Take the car for a good test drive. Warranty. Stay away from dealers for servicing and repairs.

The 3.6 has known Turbo issues from what I read on here.

It maybe worthwhile importing with sterling at 92p.

Uk is not a option due to 8 or 9k vrt on them
Have nice 1 found private here for ok price
They are to dear in dealers
Plus the only dealers sellin 08 with warrenty
Are mostly shady with micky mouse warrenty
Do turbos go on them all or just some?

If I was you I would be looking at the service history careful mileage.Take it for a good test drive and if you are suspicious on anything walk away. If you buy it get a full service done on it for peace of mind. I recommend a very good Indy in Straffan Kildare. If you read on here you will see about turbo issues. If you want to put the link up of the one your looking at more experienced people will tell you what to look for.

Turbos fail around 110k, sometimes taking the engine with them. Inlet manifolds split. Active ARBs can leak.

Otherwise it's standard RRS issues. Service history is everything, a bad one will cost a lot to put right. Expect all bills to involve the word "thousand".
