I am looking for some advice please. The external A pillar, D pillar and windscreen scuttle black plastic trims are all looking a bit 'tired' and bleached by the sun on my 2013 RRS. There is a lot of advice on the forum about how to renovate black plastic trims but to be honest none have been a long term solution for me. They look great for a few days or a couple of weeks but then revert to their previous state.
So I have decided to replace the trims with new ones. My question is what can I apply to the new trims to stop them ending up in a few years time like the ones I have now?
Any advice or experience with suitable products to protect rather than renovate the trims would be much appreciated

I've recently been doing a bit of research on this, but both for rejuvenating existing aswell as future protection. Gtechniq C4 seems to be the dogs danglies, which I now have at home, but...ended up using Klasse AIO and it looked great. I have no idea on it's durability on black but they reckon 6 months on paintwork (or longer if the Klasse Sealant is applied after). I did this as I was applying on the windows and thought it as easy just to go over all the black strip - lazyness really as I already had the Gtechnic C4.

The Gtechniq C4 is supposed to be about 2 years protection which seems to be the best that I could find, and looked really easy to apply. Hopefully someone who has actually used it can confirm if it their claims stands up in reality. 13MY Range Rover Sport Autobiography SDV6 - mine

Thanks for your reply and giving me feedback on your experience. As you say, hopefully someone on here will be able to comment on the long term durability of the Gtechnic C4 product. I may give the Klasse AIO and sealant a try on the black plastic lower door trims and C4 on the A & D pillars so I can compare the long term durability. Unless someone has already done that on the forum and can give us some helpful feedback.

I'm not sure how smooth the lower door trims on your RRS are as mine are colour coded, but I didn't think my RRS mirror bottoms were very rough so tried Klasse AIO on one of them - mistake! It left the usual dry wax white bits in the dimples, so from my brief experience if it I don't suggest KAIO on anything unless it's very smooth. Maybe a soft brush will do a better clean up job but a microfibre cloth didn't remove it all.

Once you get reading about the Klasse AIO it amazed me how good an all rounder it actually is, how many purposes it's recommended for in addition to paint sealing, even on the windscreen it beads water every bit as good as Rain X and a few others I've tried, along with PIAA Si-Tech silicon wipers (used these wipers for years, expensive but last a long time).
I'll be using the Klasse AIO and Sealant on our shower screen shortly...

Once cleaned, apply "Solution finish" , this will bring the black back to life, let dry and then apply some car pro D lux

Thanks for your reply. I did consider either painting the trims or having them wrapped but decided that I would like to keep the car as standard as possible. There is also a lot of black plastic trims on my RRS with the A Pillars, D Pillars, front scuttle panel, bottom of doors, etc, etc. So once you start painting or wrapping where do you stop?

I will try some of the products suggested by fellow forum members and provide some feedback to the forum on their long term durability after the winter.
