OK, so flopping into corners was due to a shonky rear ACE

I've now done over 10k miles on these, mostly motorways but some spirited B's/roundabouts and over 1k towing things. Wear so far has been exceptional and I have plenty of life left in them. I will at some point soon, swap the tyres around so that the insides are on the outside, so as to even up the wear & get them to last even longer.

I am now confident in them, though conscious of the fact at the moment, they are not a summer tyre so require a bit more stopping in the warmer weather. Cornering, I am hard pressed to notice any difference in ability (for what a 2.5ton car on small twisty b-roads can achieve) over previous road orientated tyres but pushing into a sharp slow speed corner (late brake into roundabout for instance) induces understeer a tad more readily.

Off road, I've not been green laning but I have been driving around wet, muddy, sloping fields with/without a 500kg trailer + load and I have yet to get myself in trouble. During the winter, icy/frosty roads were not a problem and handled much more confidently than I would with my old Pirellis.

More than happy with these and perfectly suited to the type of driving I do

Just ditched my set of absolute rubbish budget tyres which were completely shot after just 12,000 km. I have taken the plunge and installed a full set of AT3s. After a grand total of about 50 miles I can say I'm very happy so far! Far better than the rubbish jobs I took off in terms of on-road grip and they HAVE to be better off-road. The certainly look the dog's!

Interesting reading, my 5.0 SC is fitted with 275/40/20 road biased goodyears. Out here in SA there are many off road / overland opportunities.
I am stuck between a second set of 19s with off road rubber or an AT tyre like the grabbers on my current 20s. My concern is that most of the AT options don't have the required speed rating that the RRS is capable of. If I find a decent compromise then I will move to a 45 profile on the 20s
My previous Touareg ran Pirelli scorpions and later Grabber At2 and both were great, however these were 17s

What is the speed rating of the AT3's?

It says 240kmh/150mph in real money - fast enough?

Thanks, that should be plenty.....although I'm still leaning to a dedicated set of 19s with aggressive off road tyres and keeping my 20s fitted with high performance rubber

I've read the above link and it mentions the M&S and snowflake symbol, but does anybody have experience of them in snow or ice - I'd guess they'll possibly be too new so no winter drives yet?

It's only above 15 degC for a month where I live so although I was planning a dedicated set of summers/winters with already having a 2nd set of wheels, these might do the job better as an all rounder. My useage is mostly onroad (aren't they all...) but occasional rutted farm track and fields. Temperatures don't drop below -2 degC where I am but my wife didn't enjoy sliding backwards down a hill last year on the existing Continental / Michelin summer tyre mix that was on. I mostly put that down to bad technique by stopping but she was afraid of the fact she'd need to drive back down later on.

I've had Michelin Wranglers on my P38 since my ownership and always found them fine for my use, so if the the Grabber AT3's are the same or better then I'll probably give them a go. 13MY Range Rover Sport Autobiography SDV6 - mine

She needs to learn the car's systems then. HDC (hill descent control) would have been the go-to aid here. It works in reverse as well as drive and makes an icy descent much, much more controlled.  2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
