I hope all works out well in the end. As you know JLR are correct in that your contract is with the dealer. Regardless of how nice they are being, you need to go ballistic with them, not JLR.

Well done OP for sticking to your guns! Hope it works out !

My barely 1000 mile old Svr is going back tomorrow for a squeaky wheel, brakes or wheel bearing I d imagine.

Hi ya TDV*HST

There has been a lot of conversation between Dealership and Executive Office and quite frankly, the guy in EO has missed his vocation. Should have been a Politician, he says a lot but gives little away. Over the last month one thing is clear in that they have acknowledged the damage but not owned up to it...
AS I said originally, I had rejected the vehicle and after much thought agreed for it to be repaired, which is currently taking place in Scotland...
They have also said a new vehicle will be ordered and then as 2017 is now closed it will have to be an 18 model. They have also said that they have changed my status from 'Rejection' to AVC not sure what that means but I am assured it will speed things up. I am also getting a vehicle in the interim next week until new car is available.

This all sounds very good but I feel very much like a Passenger, being shunted around. At no time have they answered my original questions or put anything solid in writing.
So I am thinking I have no intention of signing my car back to them until I have something concrete in writing confirming
Timescales for new vehicle
Confirmation it will be to the exact spec, albeit upgraded powertrain
When is my money is being repaid
When am I going to be repaid for my extra expense
And finally, an apology for the down right incompetence for what could have been sorted out earlier without all this unavoidable BS...
Will keep you posted

...and some sort of indemnity against unseen damage if it does turn out to have been in an accident?

Assisted Vehicle Change.

Same thing as rejection, with a replacement, I think.

Hi Nod thanks for letting us know.
Are you keeping you car until they order you the new model next year then?

Plenty of unclear answers from them i see.

Good luck , you deserve the right out come , totally unaccepatable all of this. SVR 2018 in Santorini Black.

Hi Ya TD

I was originally told that I could keep my car. but now as they already have my car, I am being told that I will be getting a pool car next week.
I am in two minds about this. Firstly they will be wanting me to sign over my car back to them. And secondly I will lose control of the situation, because my proof apart from pictures has gone.
Part of me would like to keep the vehicle until new one built so at least I would have some control. Otherwise my car will disappear into the second hand market somewhere.
Not really sure how to play this one. Certainly, not sure who to trust.
The dealership are being nice and helpful. But then they have an interest in getting their money back and still keep JLR happy.
Any thoughts?? RRS SVR 2018

Hi Paul
This has still to be discussed however, they have been intimating it will be a straight swop...
But as yet nothing in writing.

Quite funny really. When they have nothing to say or confirm they send an email. If it is to promise something or give me some answers they ring !!!

I am beginning to think I might just put my foot down and ask to keep my car till new one built... But not sure what the legal situation would be/

Cheers

Not an SVR by any stretch, but a friend recently had very similar issues with JLR and her lemon of a Disco Sport (paint, electrics and limp mode woes).
They were very keen and almost insistedto put her into a pool car and have hers returned whilst she waited for another (she subsequently bought a stock D4 in the end), so that does seem to be their preferred way.
Me personally, I'd rather hold onto the current one and deliver it back the day I collect the new one. Wink

As an aside, my friends returned lemon DS has now been bought by someone in the local village and I see it pretty much every day....I wonder if they know the woes or have had any issues Whistle ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

I rejected my Disco Sport (one of the first, build issues), I rejected mine on advice by LR, to do it through LRFS, I guess Nod you are doing it directly throigh LR.

We had a pool car as well up until our new car arrived. LRFS and LRCS were excellent, but we needed to be very firm.

Good, luck with the new SVR. Thumbs Up Gone:

I wouldn't think they would return your car to you, as you will add to wear and tear, marks, add mileage, and they won't be able to sell for so much once "corrected" This should have been dealt with through specialist solicitor, they would have had it all in writing. You will be getting a newer model which is sure to be more expensive. I feel you are expecting to much in replies etc from them. They might not know how vehicle was damaged, much doesn't get reported or fixed as ok without a report.

My brothers garage had a similar problem once, and legally while new vehicle was being "sought" a pool car of a different make was loaned, as long as it had similar space, auto/manual box etc, that was all that is required evidently. Anything better would be down to goodwill of dealer, yea right. Whistle John
