When I fitted some,(have fitted three sets in total now) I levered the edge of the cap up slightly with a small screwdriver and gripped it with a pair of pliers and worked them round as if un-screwing a bolt not perfect but worked. The threaded bosses they screw into AYR500061 are only £4.00 each from L/R so not to bad if you have to replace them compared to the price of the roof rail/bar kit from L/R : |

I had 1 break off when I fitted my roof rack so I very carefully drilled it out. Merc C220 estate Sport AMG
