That's what I thought Rob but dealer is telling me the service schedule says five years is a major with fuel air and cabin filters so will cost £649. Wanted to make sure I wasn't reading it wrong from the service book. 2017 SVR. SVO Scafell grey Ebony interior

I've just had my 5 year Service done by LR dealership, and indeed a B service was undertaken.

Mine had a B service in September last year and has only covered 4K miles since so couldn't understand why it would want another B service 12 months later.

It does seem strange, also like the 5 year service is 80,000 miles service and I'm not even half of that yet.

Mine has only just hit 30k miles. If you go by the service book then it should be an A service so don't know why dealer is telling me B other than to make more money. 2017 SVR. SVO Scafell grey Ebony interior

Funny that - spoke to 2 stealers today - first one £596 including Mot @ £55 - then another £696 inc MOT both said 80000 mile service - neither could define A or B service - I'm still awaiting the phone call back from both to confirm service needed

I asked a main dealer to break down all items in price because it seemed too cheap. Cross referenced it to the official sheet (see link above) and it was only then I twigged they were not quoting for all items needed. The 5 year service for a 2012 requires the DR filter changing. It's about £75 for the filter.

The last 4 years service are main dealer but at 5 years old would you keep in main dealer or consider a good independent? 2017 SVR. SVO Scafell grey Ebony interior

I'm getting my 5 year service done in just over a week. Called dealers and they do quoted £550 without transfer box or brake fluid. I asked for a quote to buy services in bulk ie. 3 of them. They quoted £1700

Indie every time. Dealers will overcharge and underperform so why use them? 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |
