Fuel filter part number for mine is LR041978 and I'll upload a photo shortly to show what it looks like in its place.

Looks like it may be hard to change. Not a lot of space. M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW.

I think it will be easy enough, it's on a sliding bracket and the fittings are easy off connectors. It looks like to you spin the base off, then slide it up. Thumbs Up

The oil filter is in the V, with a 32mm nut to remove, so that is a piece of cake. I've purchased a 9l oil extractor, so my intermediate services are going to be fun. 2017 MY17 SDV6 SE

Just an update on the fuel filter. I filled up as per usual at my normal BP. Drove 250km, then the next day, a message comes up on the screen, "water in Fuel" with a message to see owners manual. Luckily when this message occurred, I was at a LR dealership for other duties and the mechanic took the fuel filter off and drained the contents. Low and behold, water in the filter. So I guess the system works, which is good news.

I'm now beginning the process of a claim against BP for an expensive filter, a couple of hours for a mechanic and a fresh tank of fuel (They drained the entire contents).

So now the readers will understand the reason to carry a spare. I just finished a motorcycle ride from Wollongong to Cape York and I can tell you roadside assist is a long way off when you get to remote areas. M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW.

Totally agree Bails, did you find the location of the fuel filter in the V8? 2017 MY17 SDV6 SE

Yes filter in the same position as yours. I still need to pick up a spare and will do in the near future. M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW.

Well I got a triangle in the screen today. So now you all know the reason to carry a spare filter. Turned out to be a connection error but I do have a spare filter on hand. To drain the water is a PITA the POMS need to take lessons from the Germans when it comes to car design. Water tap below filter should be easy to access and open, mine is not. M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW.

When you replace the fuel filter do you need to bleed the system? Or is it plug and play?
