I'm looking for Chrome Exhaust Tips for my RR Sport TDV6 HSE

Can anyone help, I want to put some chrome dual or quad tips on my RRSport 2.7tdv6 hse, is there anywhere I can get them? I spoke to JE but they only sell the pipes with the back silencers attached for £350 + vat. Does anyone know of a cheaper solution?

Thanks Question Question Question

Ebay has a SC exhaust for sale at £100 at the moment. Might this be of any use, only single pipes but better than the diesel pipes if that's what you have! 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

There were some weld-on jobs of an erstwhile member who's name escapes me at the moment.... I'll see if I can find the pics, they're in the gallery somewhere.

Latest: OK - I found the pics, but the comments on the pics seem to indicate he had to have the rear silencers done too.... see the pics in Toodeep's gallery, if you're interested in what it looks like anyway.

Mazza - you will be much better off investing in a system from JE - it is designed esp for the diesel - it looks like the S/C when fitted - it sounds much better when fitted too........ see pics in Paulb's gallery. I have seen his car and listened to the exhaust note. If I had a tdv6 - this would be my 1st modification = 100%

But was that cheaper than £350+VAT? Tips will be cheaper, but obviously you get what you pay for.

There a lots of chrome tips out there - what you have to do is literally hacksaw of the downturn section at the of your tailpipe - then leave enough length to allow your new chrome tip to slide over - this will of course need welding to the existing remaining section of your tailpipe.

This also means on the diesel the exhaust emissions will exit horizontally and not downward - thus potential for soot on the rear of your car and elsewhere?

Thank you, does it sound less like a diesel with them fitted? Do you know anyone who could fit them in the Surrey or London area to save me having to go to Coventry?

thanks

Mazza

It sounds very V8'ish Thumbs Up

With regard to fitting - I would have thought any good local exhaust outfit could do the job - or even your dealer? But JE are very easy to find

Come up the M40 from London or the M1 - then head for Coventry A45 and Coventry Airport - big Island on the A45 next to airport - JE only yards from here. Fit while you wait

There's some nice twin tailpipe trims on ebay for £21.99 (£39.98 the pair). They can be properly fitted and welded by your local exhaust specialists (ie Top Gear), or, as previously stated, you can just hacksaw the end of your single pipes and clamp-on the new ones. They do look much better, Im going to have mine done. Good Luck!

Try: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/3-INCH-TWIN-STAINLES...dZViewItem

I rung my local Top Gear Exhaust specialist who said he'd fit and weld them properly for about £60. However, he also said he could supply and fit his own (superior) trims for £110, including slight oval or angle-cut ends with "liners." Good Luck again!!!
