It's a comfortable Grand Tourer and as quick as my RRS Black Edition was - it also has a nice exhaust noise button when you want to hear it Cool

I'm convinced - been offered option for similar price of used demonstrator now with £20 pa RFL or new plate September with £440 pa RFL courtesy of HMG Evil or Very Mad Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

After loads of searching and viewings Tim I realised the dream and reality were miles apart so for now at least I'm moving on Sad

I will keep looking though and if the right S2 comes along I will buy it as I've still got a garage free for it Mr. Green

I'm not running around as much to find one though and need time for the market to refresh Thumbs Up Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

That would be the dealer network rather than the vehicle. LR dealerships are shocking which is why anyone sensible goes elsewhere whenever possible.

My TDV8 hasn't been perfect but since I stopped using LR dealerships for servicing etc. it's been massively better. The dealerships broke things on it - I don't have to tell you about this, of course, as you had the infamous "oops, we dropped your car" incident! Big Cry

But when I get in my RRS, even if just a run to the supermarket, it's still a grand place to be. Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Can I first say that after 17 years/10 vehicles I found the decision to leave JLR ownership very difficult last year and kept feeling drawn to give them another chance but it's passed now especially after the dealership experience from Lexus - I'm not saying never but unless something changes I just can't see it Confused

I agree partially RRSTDV8 but it's not just the dealers now it's also the new vehicles which are more expensive and badly built based on forum posts here and elsewhere, my experience of the DS and Which recently giving the DS a "Don't Buy" rating because of customer feedback Sad

However it's not my intention to spoil anyone enjoying theirs especially if they're happy like I was before - I am just here sharing with members I'd like to continue knowing, help if I can and I still have a soft spot for Landys Bow down Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

You got a great discount on the RC!

Let us know how you get on with it. We took our IS to Bath the other day (about 100 miles round trip) and got 54.8mpg. I was driving quite normally and not trying to be especially economical. Not too shabby.

BTW, the ultra blue is a multi-coat paint job and is very difficult to match. Many smart repairers will not touch it. Take care not to scratch it! It looks brilliant though... Regards

Malcolm

Shocked

I've had to fight SWMBO on this colour - I love it - she hates it so I'm not going to let her see this Laughing

She wanted grey but I've had enough of it for now Yawn

The friend who sold me on the Mitsubishi had the RC loaner when his NX was in for kerbed alloy repair and that planted the seed - he's not very popular with swmbo though because I'm raiding her shoe/handbag fund and the kids inheritance Rolling with laughter

I could buy a German clone but I like to be different and the Lexus is just that - this is why after all I bought so many LRs in the past Thumbs Up Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Muddy even a shoddy 1990's Tdi Defender is starting to get to silly values - the insured value of my 88500 miler 1996 TDI 90 County went from £10000 last year to £21000 for the 2017/2018 premium year. A dealer has offered me £15000 to take mine in less than mint condition but with a galvanised chassis, conversion from Hard Top to Stationwagon and with all but the transfer box still being the original from the factory. The body has a lot of bramble rash and a lot of scratches and dents too..... what will the value next year! If values continue to go up like ther are I will be in profit even after taking account of the work I have had done to it since buying it in 2001. I dread to think what my neighbour's 1960 S1 with only 2000 (yes 2000 miles) on it since he bought from the local Civil Defence Force storage depot where it had been for >20 years unused since delivery - £80k? 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
