I had a Giverny Green RRS (almost the same as Scotia) and had a bash in the tailgate that not only made a dent but broke the paint. Our local Chips-away made such a good repair that when I traded the car in the salesman inspecting the car couldn't find the resprayed area until I showed him............ My brother has an Aston Martin Rapide that was "attacked" by a supermarket trolley as he sat in the car........ same Chips-away franchisee came and did the paintwork repairs and they were invisible too. Unfortunately the local franchise has closed down. My experience of them has been very good. Your problem is it is very close to a letter on the bonnet and that would have to be removed - you may need to remove all the lettering and replace with new once the repaint has been carried out - you can get the sets in a template on a well known auction website. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I too have used Chips Away with excellent results and the work done outside the house. However, it is as much to do with the technician as the technique, so would try and get some comments from folk that have used your local franchisee.

I'm amazed how much extra paint has come off away from the actual chip. It doesn't seem very well bonded for some reason. This might mean a slightly larger area than normal needs doing. |

I too have been surprised at how large the area is - possibly not helped by me waiting too long (maybe 4 months?) to get it sorted |

To complete the thread; ChipsAway have just been and gone, and I have to say that (so far) I am most impressed. He removed all of the letters and sprayed / blended out most the the vertical section of the bonnet. Superb colour match & finish etc etc. Took him over three hours (lots of watching paint dry), and charged £162 which is fine.
