New Alpina D3 Diesel.

The new BMW ALPINA D3 Diesel Saloon
Details of the highest performance 2.0 litre 3-Series diesel announced.

The BMW ALPINA D3 saloon takes the unique collaboration between the two companies into a new market segment. Built alongside the BMW 320d, the D3 derivative raises the bar for 2.0 litre diesel power and performance, with 100hp per litre on tap, and a top speed of 145mph. Yet the car has one of the lowest CO2 figures in the entire BMW range and offers nearly 50mpg on the combined cycle.

2.0 litre diesel engine with 200hp, 302 lbs-ft of torque

Six speed manual transmission

0-62mph in 7.4 secs

Max speed 145mph

Combined consumption 47.9mpg

CO2 rating 156g/km

Price £26,995 OTR
Unmistakable but exclusive

Externally, the silhouette of the new ALPINA D3 is unique, with exclusive aerodynamic front and rear spoilers, 19” ALPINA wheels, and twin polished tailpipes. Inside, the D3 boasts half leather sports seats, trademark ALPINA steering wheel, gear knob, and instruments with red needles over blue dials, and an individually numbered production plaque. The floor mats and door sill trims also bear the ALPINA logo.
History

ALPINA have been working in conjunction with BMW for over 40 years, and before a new BMW model is launched ALPINA have access to BMW’s own development programme. Engineers from both companies communicate closely, and this allows ALPINA to add the extra dimensions of performance and handling to BMW cars which already represent the ultimate for most drivers.

However, innovation must enhance ‘real world’ performance. Hence the D3’s dual personality – exciting but economical. Few other cars in any class have the same ability to deliver the consummate open-road driving experience – all with meagre fuel consumption and minimal environmental cost. All this and the £26,995 price add up to an unbeatable combination, but don’t expect to see the new D3 on every street corner – ALPINA GB only expect to be able to get around 100 cars for 2006!

Alpina getting involved in diesels? What is the world coming to

Sounds interesting though and not expensive either.

Slightly but did anyone else get through those "exclusive prints" of the E90 coupe? Nice shots actually... if I get a chance will scan and post them. It looks for all the world a baby 6er.

2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Buckingham Blue

We were looking to get a alpina D3 BUT and that's a VERY big But what ever option you got for from the BMW options list you have to add 2k to it for the first option the then the rest are at normal BMW price

So if you want sat nav that's £2.5k plus 2k for the Alpina nod from the standard car £4.5k for sat nav and that's even if you just wan the arm rest £125 or what ever it is plus £2k RRS TDV6 Gone but still around

Yeah i got them on friday too shmoogle. Am going to go and have a mooch on the launch weekend no doubt.

Im getting itchy feet in the RS4 now, am thinking to go for something a little bit more economical though, as i don't like living at the petrol pump! its like my 2nd residence nowadays! however don't want to loose my poke either.. TDV8/Super diesel.. 535d Sport, just is too big i think.. i know that sounds stupid when comparing to a RRS, but the RRS is a youthful car if you know what i mean..

Therefore any other super diesel will be good.. would be interested to know whether Alpina are doing this to a 330d Sport as well, and even the 335d Sport!? now thats something id put my name down for..!! may make some calls this arvo..

Normal 330d sport, been there done that (in 2002-3)

Rang back about the TDV8 for myself and some other guys that have expressed interest, so will know more again about the delivery dates on these, however still not sure for myself.. as the same applies for the above, i.e. been there done that kind of, and variation in cars is good..

New 335i petrol? 30mpg and still 5.5s to 60?

WTF!! yeah i remember you mentioning this Jay, didn't remember it was for the alpina one though.. hmm in that case then.. may shoot itself in the foot too easily, but if i was to order one, would only really go for it on a 330/335d variant, if they ever release one, so some bits would be added (i hope) and only real other options i would want would be sat nav/bluetooth, and these would add themselves on as resale goodies down the line, so wouldn't mind paying for them to be fair.

The dealer did say that this is why you only see standard cars all with no sat nav and that RRS TDV6 Gone but still around

may just have a look when i can get a 335d sport for, coupe/saloon, my 330 d sport was the best all rounder i've ever owned, but that was 52 plate, no sat nav and hardly any toys, am a spoilt brat now after the RRS and RS4, so demand something with EVERYTHING.. but obviously don't want to pay top wack for it.. hmm.. don't want much do I!

Having never owned an Audi and having owned several Beemers, I guess I'd go for BMW over Audi, although I am impressed with build and finish of the recent slew of Audis. The feel of Kam's RS4 was great. And it put a massive great grin on my face when the loud pedal was pushed too!
