Just been quoted £693.31 for my RRS's second service.

They have offered me an alternative in the form of a 'service pack' at £780 which consists of 2 services.

The £693 on it's own seems a bit steep for one service, is this what others have paid?

If it's right then I think it makes sense to get the 2x pack at £780. To be honest I thought Range Rovers would have been on variable servicing, not fixed 12mth, which isn't good considering I do a max of 4-5k a year. Did you buy an approved used car? If so check on Topix that the last owner didn't take out the 5 year service plan as it is transferable between owners. My local dealership didn't sell me my car but it has had 2 services with them and they told me when I booked it in that it was covered by the service plan even though I didn't buy it from them. I have heard of dealers not telling people that their used car is covered, however the service reception is supposed to also check if the car is covered by the plan. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Yup it was approved used. Bought Nov '16 when the car was 1yr old.

Might be worth paying the lower amount for the next two services then if they cost around £650 a pop and the plan is only £750.............. does that plan cover MOTs too? 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Not having a service plan I haggled my 2nd service down from £661 to £575.00.

No, that was simply due to calling two dealers. First dealer quoted £661.00, second dealer quoted £611.00. Then I did nothing for a week, after which the first dealer called me to ask why I hadn't confirmed the booking . So, I said I'd been offered a much lower price and would go elsewhere. There was a brief discussion and then they offered £575.00.
On the service invoice there was a remark that a special price was agreed to retain the business.

I had luck too as I'd booked in at £750 for a 60 month service, then called another dealer who priced at £520. I called the original dealer to either cancel or compete and they dropped to £560 (including an MOT by 3rd party tester).
When paying I was charged £491 (and this included the MOT), I initially thought they'd forgot to add the VAT but on just checking my receipt it was included.

While the above was a score, it's still ridiculous pricing for little more than an oil and filters change. I didn't even bother with a free coffee in their fancy waiting area.

I had my 3 year 32000 mile service a couple of weeks ago & I got them (Hatfields) down to just over £300 plus vat. Andy.
