Well done Andy. That is an excellent price, more so if it's from Hatfields.

Andy your car may have been due the recent Gearbox ECU software upgrade - several of us who have had cars serviced since the beginning of the year have noticed a change - no deadband when you put your foot down to pull out of a junction and quicker pick up. However it may be that they refalshed old software and that has reset the "learning" gearbox and over a period it relearn your driving habits. Not sure if L494's have that but L320 do. I have not needed to use Sport mode once since mine had the update, kickdown is really good since it was done. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Sounds about right Tim,,as soon as I set off from dealers after service it was off like a rocket & I wasn't in sport mode.

So pleased you are happy with the price and result after service, I generally receive a very good service from them at Pickering, but can be expensive at times, their Castrol edge oil I found was priced OTT, but when I mentioned it, they reduced the price.

I won't let the dealer wash mine,,while I was there a chap was washing one but was only using one bucket. They charged me £60 for the oil.The crafty charged me £3.05 to fill the screenwash which was already full as I filled it before I set off & never used the washers. But I did get a free battery for my fob as mines been showing change batter for last 4 month.

Your oil cost seems reasonable by comparison to my price originally charged of £92.20 inc VAT 😱 I'm sure the L320 doesn't hold that much more oil? May I ask what oil they used.

I will admit that since falling off roof and being confined to bed now for past 5/6 weeks, with the number of broken bones etc, I expect currently I don't look at my best, but hopefully over next few years I will return to my normal self.
