Run flats can have very bad effects on ride quality. especially if fitted to vehicles that were not designed for them in the first place. And of course, you should not fit them at all if you don't have TPMS.

I have BMW 520 estate which was fitted with run flats. The ride was very harsh and when I did get a puncture, garages wouldn't repair it. So I replaced all 4 with normal tyres and sourced a spare tyre and jack etc.

DONT fit runflats,,the ride will be terrible & you will also have to fit TPMS (tyre pressure monitoring system) if you do,so that you know when one has lost air or got a puncture.Plud they cost a fortune & not many garages will repair them.

It's a matter of opinion of course! I had a BMW 530d GT (the marmite beemer) with run flats. Ride not harsh at all and I have a neck injury. Punctures (2) repaired no problem and cheaply. |
