Hi, I have a question regarding the lettering on the Range Rover sport.

I have just placed an order for a RRS Autobiography in Santorini Black, I am aware that the car has a black grille, but all the photos I have seen of the autobiography have the lettering in silver, I personally think this looks better as it adds some contrast and detailing rather than blend in. also note I have the 22 inch silver wheels.

on my order sheet I noticed the lettering is in Black both on the from and back of the car, my dealer states this is a standard option and cannot be changed unless I opt for the bright pack which also will add a silver grille and a few other silver accents I don't really want, I really don't understand as nearly all the Range Rover sports i've seen in black will have a black grille and silver lettering.

is my dealer just being funny or am I missing something?

You can change the badging and logos easily - letter sets and badges can be bought on eBay. The grille colour depends on the spec but that too is easily changed with bits bought from the forum sponsor Dan @ Duckworths or from eBay sellers. It isn't a hard job to do, just a bit fiddly. I did hear back from my dealer today who actually said that it will come in silver lettering and only the stealth pack will give black lettering. Confusing considering all photo I've seen of the AB MY17 have black lettering. I suppose I have the email from my dealer confirming this, so if it does come in black I can just show them the email and they should have to change it without any cost to me.

Hi. I think you will find your dealer is wrong. As far as I am aware all rrs apart from hse spec has come with black lettering regardless of stealth pack or not. Double check with them.

I'm an now also thinking my dealer is wrong. Frustrating when the dealer themselves can't give a straight answer.

Personally I think the black lettering (on black vehicles) looks awful and is a complete waste of time.
Another cheap cost cutting measure by JLR on an expensive vehicle. Silver/chrome should be a no charge option. John

exactly what I thought. My dealer has stated that as the black lettering is standard on 2017 with Autobiography Trim that they will change the lettering to silver once the receive the car from the factory.

It seems like such a hassle for a car that is costing 80k

a part of me is thinking wether to just change the colour to something like fuji white or even add the Bright pack on the car which is a no cost option. however I do like the black grille on the black car and adding the bright pack will also change the grille to silver.

im glad to see im not the only one who thinks black lettering on a black car looks awful.
