That has been the criticism of that engine that I have read most in the few tests that the motoring press have made of the V6 S/C. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Porsche macan GTS is 360bhp - I can't see what 25 bhp would do for the RRS that weighs much more than a macan, other than invalidate the warranty and still not feel much faster!

I have never had a remap, but a Tuner local to me advertises this on their site (FAQ's) with regards to Warranty.

Will an ECU Remap invalidate my cars warranty?

You are welcome to be a guinea-pigg for the rest of us when your new car is delivered and you get it remapped within the warranty period. LR regularly voided warranties in 2006/2007 when people fitted 20" and bigger wheels to cars without the uprated steering rack.............. also in 2007 one of the major franchises with was caught remapping new 2.7's and voided warranties for the owners - they very nearly lost their franchise for LR as well..............
The thing that really worries me though is that as far as I know most people remapping their cars don't tell their insurers assuming that the remap is "invisible" but investigators can down load other info from the fault logs and ECU logs that can prove that the engine was operating outwith the designed parameters these days, what happens if someone that dishonest hits my car, hopefully they will still be 3rd party only insured but an insurer could refuse point blank to provide any cover and then either I or my insurer have to sue through the courts to get my car replaced...............
Basically by putting a remap on the car you are modifying it and there are very very few insurers for either the remap provider or the owner of the car who will provide cover for cars with modified engines. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
