Hello everyone.

Can anyone help me with this.
Found out I had a misfire on my Range 3 weeks ago. Change coil in question and at the same time change all plugs, complete oil change and filter. Air filter also.
Was running back normal again and was chuffed with my own DIY work.
BUT...... a week ago doing a small 2 mile drive I heard this rattle from front end. Now I have had people tell me tappets , crank, big ends, gear box, and so on. It's heading to garage on Thursday this week to be investigated but just wondered if anyone has had this sort of thing before.?..

It's most likely the cat as the cylinder that was missing would have been putting neat fuel down the exhaust which destroys the cat and makes it brake up and the big lumps can't pass out the pipe so they rattle around in the box  Clickadeeclick

It sounds a bit regular for some of those things mate, big end , small ends tend to be more of a "clack" and unless very bad they're only when you rev it.

I had an alternator made that noise once before it jammed up ?

We'll have 4 hours work the box is out.
Very heavy might I add.

Looks like it was a loose bolt on the Convertor. The bolts been hitting the back of the engine.

I'm going to have to get the box checked just to be on the safe side but exhaust needs changing and I think I will change the drive wheel to engine as it could be damaged but we will see. Also prop bearing is shot.

Lots of work but saved lots of money. Noughting like abit of DIY.
