I have one of Ray's protectors, my mate hasn't. I have my spare wheel, my mate hasn't. Well, he has now he's bought a new one along with winch. 'Nuf said.  2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Now that I've sourced myself a full size spare to replace the space saver, I'm eagerly awaiting Ray's return from his holidays so I can put it on the car. Although I live in a low crime area (probably jinxed it now ) I think it best not to risk it till I get one of his protectors.

Even if you only have a space saver, the price to replace that is very expensive, even used on EBay, Ray's design is great and stops thefts dead, he supplied and delivered and fitted for me, many people have had their spare nicked, some not even knowing, till they got a puncture.  John

Well, mine arrived today, great product and fantastic service from Ray
Dropped the space saver spare and it doesn't look like it's ever been off the car, flat as a fluke and filthy. Just as well I didn't get a puncture.
Protector installed and cable greased , literally a 10 minute job.
I thought that I would pump up the space saver and give it a wash before storing it, however air was bubbling out from the bead which appears to be full of grit. Looks like the tyre has deflated, grit thrown up from the road has settled in the bead preventing it from sealing. Just goes to show that they need checking regularly. I may as well have the tyre taken off the rim, cleaned and re-seated to see if holds air.
In view of the above, my next job will be checking the wheel nut torques.
