United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Arctic Frost
rattle at base of windscreen

Hi all
I have a rattle / banging that seems to be coming from the base of the screen. It comes at around 60 mph and above and is worse when driving into the wind. I had this on the p38 and it was the plastic panel at the base of the screen where the window wipers come through, as the wind hit it at a certain speed it vibrated against the screen. I automatically thought that this was the case on this car so I fixed the problem, only to find next time out on the motorway nothing had changed. It is impossible for it to be this plastic panel now so it has to be something else. I cant see the wipers vibrating, and it is still there when the wipers are working, so I guess we can rule that out.
So has anyone come across this before?
Its really annoying on a car that's so quiet to have a loud rattle / banging at cruising speed.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for replying. I have just checked the trims, they seem to be on quite tight. I have given them a clout to try and reseat them on the clips but they don't seem to be moving anywhere.
