It's been a long day!
Bought a 2007 TDV8 in November to see how I'd get on with a RRS. Grew to love it. Probably (definitely) didn't do enough research prior as my local garage had one for sale, 90k miles for £11k, snapped it up. Started to upgrade it with AB stuff but decided I'd be better off looking for a newer one.
Didn't realise how the facelift changed things, interior and exterior. If I had then I'd have waited until a newer one was available.
So I found someone to buy mine and started looking.
Was in the middle of giving my Dad's pride and joy a clean as my brother has been lucky enough to be allowed to drive it on his wedding day;

When I got a call to say that this was available;

Put a deposit down, went to see it, test drove it and it really is leagues ahead in terms of refinement, interior quality, road noise, looks etc so did the deal and headed home. I don't need to tell any of you about the improvements over the pre-facelift I'm sure but it addresses all the issues I had with my old one, I'm really happy with it. Seems so much better put together and of course the interior is where it should be for a car of it's type.
10 mins after paying for my new RRS, I'm on the side of the M66 in my old one having spewed out loads of black smoke and coming to a halt.

8 hours later, the AA have recovered me to my local garage and I'm none the wiser. Seem to think it might be a fuel pressure sensor, I'm no mechanic so I can only wait and see.

So I am picking up my new RRS on Wednesday and wondering if my old one will ever work again. I now remember why I have always bought brand new BMWs.
Bottom line is I have bought a lovely new TDV8 and the old one might be dead.
