When should i change the Cam Belt?

Hi Guys. Please excuse my ignorance, however i have just purchased my first Range Rover, 2011 HSE
I just want to make sure i schedule when i should be looking to replace the cam belt? Its got full Land Rover Service History & just had a service prior to buying it.
Its done 47k miles, however i read regardless of miles you should be looking to change it once its 6 years old? (As in now)
TIA
Matt

It also appears the majority say it should be changed at 7 years rather than 6? Given the mileage i would like to think it will be good until the end of the year?

Spain

Play safe, change it earlier rather than later. In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures
Gone - A couple of RRS, A couple of Disco's. However thinking of another Sport.

My manual says change at 7 years or at a stated mileage, which ever comes first. John

Your profile suggests it's a TDV8. If so, there is no cam belt - it's a chain and doesn't get changed. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Never checked his profile, just from description on original post and no mention of V8. Censored Whistle Rolling Eyes
Good spot RRSTDV8. Thumbs Up John

Sorry for the hijack

So does a 2011 3.0 V6 HSE Dynamic have a cambelt or chain?

Yes, TDV6 will need the belts changing. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

V8 (petrol and diesel) are chain, V6 (2.7 and 3.0) are belts. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Thank you

for the replies guys much appreciated Thumbs Up

I spoke to my indy today he recommended the main belt and pulleys he said the rear belt did only the fuel pump and if it should be unfortunate to go it just wouldn't start and wold issue a warning on the display. He also said the same engine is in the Discovery but the intervals are longer than the Sport, WTF is that about???

He quoted me £575 for cam belt kit replacement and both pulleys. They are Sheffield Prestige if anyone in the South Yorkshire area is interested and as before I would highly recommend them based on my previous experiences Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

When I bought the car from Guy Salmon in Sheffield the saleman told me it was a cam chain, me thinks he needs a refresher course Censored Censored
