ENGINE SYSTEM FAULT - NO LIMP MODE - RRS 2.7 2007

Hi
Engine system fault info comes up under hard acceleration with puff of not so thick smoke out of exhaust. Had the car in the garage (not a LR specialist) and it came up with boost pressure sensor. Since then he has blanked out the egr, cleaned out other bits (he's Censored off to Romania s didn't give me the full details!) and remapped it. Main intercooler pipe on left replaced but also see oil leak passenger side from a pipe above the left intercooler one. This was not repaired! Any other ideas as loosing faith and want to get it back to him to sort when he returns but he seems to be stabbing in the dark....yes could take it to a specialist but already forked out loads....going to give him one last chance!

Could be the turbo actuator/ wastegate sticking. Mine used to as it was owned by my mother for a few years and never really accelerated in anger. There is a way of lubing it and manually freeing it off, but all I did was use top quality fuel and drive it hard for a few weeks, hasn't done it in way over 18 months now and feels more responsive at top end.

It certainly could be the case as only had a few weeks and the lady before certainly kept the miles off plus towed horse boxes! Patience may be the solution....actuator has been checked and fine... it also thinking about puttin a couple of bottles of forte turbo cleaner in the tank just to see what that does.....

Just an update....EGR's blanked off but problem was still there, into another garage and hole in crossover pipe looks like it's causing the problem so once replaced hopefully all good....but we will see
