Terraclean or not to Terraclean!

Hi. I've had my 2005 RRS 2.7TD6 a couple of weeks now and I'm very happy with the way she's running. I'm getting about 24mpg. With 61000 miles on the clock I'm considering a Terraclean by a local and very reputable approved garage. Just wondered if you nice people had any thoughts or views on Terraclean? I've seen some postings on other internet forums that have a bag of mixed views but I'd value your own opinions and experiences.
Thanks.

My advice would be to spend your dosh on EGR blanking and a remap instead - will do more to improve your car......there are a few site sponsors (here and Disco3) that can do it for you and are mobile (Geoff. ; Bodsy ; Woody32)
Thumbs Up

Disco Mikey did a write up on here somewhere, basically having taken various readings before and after he didn't see any benefits, that said at the time he was doing lots of mileage which helps burn the carbon of naturally I think. There maybe more benefits to a vehicle which makes constant short trips where the engine doesn't reach operating temperature for prolonged periods of time. Nanocom Evo

Thanks guys. Dr Rob - I'm having a remap tomorrow at Collisons, Waterlooville. Personally I think they're very good and they did my Octavia vRS for me. It's because it's going in tomorrow that I was considering the Terraclean as they are authorised distributors. I've attached a couple of pics of the car just because I'm pleased as to how it's come up

Alive Tuning or Bell Auto Services are the 2 recommended remap specialists for LR products...be interesting to see how Collinsons compare.
Did they mention EGR removal? Your model year is crying out for it Thumbs Up Visitor from fullfatrr.com

Hi,
I have a 2005 rrs, I get 22 round town and 31 motorway. That's trip not brim. 24 sounds low but will depend on roads and heavy foot. One thing you can check is the map sensor, takes 5 mins to take out and clean. My sensor was blocked thick with black coke, could be worth a clean and see if you get better mpg. Careful how you clean it Thumbs Up

Thanks Adam. I'm quoting 24mpg but it's very early days. Not much MW driving within that data. Thanks for all responses.
