SVR Insurance

Hi,

Just wondering how you guys are insuring your SVR's? I'm 33 with 6 yrs NCB and have been quoted 2,800. This seems a lot of money as i can insure a Lambo Huracan for 1,800.

Any ideas why the SVR is coming out so much? Even a diesel Range sport is 2,200 to insure.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Lee

Because they're highly desirable, relatively common and were very easy to steal. Unfortunately insurers don't seem to have reduced premiums since LR made them harder to steal...

I recently read the regulator has changed the rules where comparison sites no longer have to show the cheapest quote, they can now show the quotes which give them the highest commission, with you having to dig deeper to get the best prices. Some crap about better competition for the customer ????

The best way to sort that is to compare, then buy direct so they never get commission- when they lose money they may improve. 13MY Range Rover Sport Autobiography SDV6 - mine

Try Direct Line, they don't provide quotes on comparison sites. My lowly 3.0l diesel HSE is 430 a year with them, but post code has an aweful lot to do with insurance cost.

what the others said - my SC highest quote on the Meerkat was 10,000!!! Average seemed to be around 1200 I'm 51, full no claims but 2 x SP30... a lot wanted 1000 excess and a black box for 3 months.... Phone A-plan (one of the site sponsors) 500 excess, new for old for the first 12 months, no black box... happy with the incontrol secure = 640 they had to make a call to the under writer as the 3.0 SC is a new engine to the UK Market Thumbs Up GONE** RRS 3.0SC Silver fully loaded Smile - 2020 110 loving it

The SVR comes with a tracker.....and when I insured mine that was sufficient. I'm with Admiral Insurance with a multi car policy. I can only assume your quotes maybe high due to your age as well as postcode and a million other things that are taken into account which when questioned never make sense Whistle Whistle . Try putting your wife/ partner on as well sometimes that brings price down as well. Good hunting Thumbs Up
