Does anyone know if I can buy a service plan for my Sport ?
I bought it from a Land Rover main dealer late last year.
It is an approved vehicle with a two year warranty and has covered 20,000 miles.

Having looked at the FULL terms and conditions of the Service Plan, I would say that you can only purchase a plan up to 90 days after it is registered. After that, you are out of luck. Here's a link to the FULL T's & C's of the Plan. http://www.landrover.co.uk/ownership/servi...tions.html

If you purchased the Car from a Main Dealer and it came with a Extended Approved Warranty then I think you will receive a option to renew automatically through the post just before the existing one is due to expire, as this is what to happened me on several occasions. I think they have also extended the cover to something like a maximum of 10 years or 100k miles.

My local main dealer was keen to sell me a service plan for my MY12 just after I bought it (not from them) earlier this year, so i think you should be able to get one. from what i remember it's basically a pay-by-installments plan and didn't seem to be a particularly good deal. Merc C220 estate Sport AMG

The Plan covers full service requirements including labour and lubricants and DPF/Ad Blue, but excluding brake pads, and is a one off payment of £699.00 to cover 5 years servicing or 50,000 miles, whichever comes soonest. It's a pretty good deal as a single "A" service with my local dealer is £299.00.

The Land Rover Approved Service Plan administrator is EMaC Ltd, EMaC House, Southmere Court, Crewe Business Park, Crewe, CW1 6GU.

Well Bill,

I have just had a look at the EMaC website www.emac.ltd.uk and they say that they will provide service plans for vehicles if the pre-existing service plan has, or is about to expire. This is arranged directly between EMaC Ltd and the vehicle owner (so may or may not be more expensive than via a dealer!). The one caveat appears to be that it must be contiguous to a prior Service Plan.

If it isn't put on the vehicle within the first 90 days, that's it. If it is, it can be extended after the first 5 years.... for a price!

It's a "no brainer" of a deal.

Maybe the initial cost changes from dealer to dealer. My dealer charged me £699.00 for the 5 year Service Plan when I bought my vehicle in 2015. I know others that have bought their vehicles elsewhere but have been charged the same amount. So please do not tell me that it was not £699.00.

The charge for renewal seems to be negotiable, the same as warranties, and indeed it says it can be paid in instalments. Whether it is worthwhile or not, I cannot tell you. Thinking about it logically though, there really is no reason that a standard service should cost more as a vehicle gets older as the work required remains the same, the only variable being the consumables that it covers which are subject to market price.

Except, for example the 7th service (includes timing belt etc) which would be included in any 5 year plan for a car 2 years old or more, costs over £2k alone according to my dealer. There is no way on this earth that you can get 5 years servicing to land rover recommendations on a 2 or more year old car for £699 or anything like it.

Many dealers (many brands) are offering cheap servicing deals if bought at the time of a new car sale. It's an incentive to help sell new cars.

Anyone on here got a deal like Jock is suggesting, on a 3-4 year old car (like the OP is asking for)? Merc C220 estate Sport AMG

Two days ago I did ring the dealer as Jock55 suggested but they seemed unsure, said they would check...and still haven't got back to me.
If and when they do I shall report back.
