Did not think a remap worked on a supercharged or was not really worth iti thought it was a pully change to get an extra 50bhp Thumbs Up

In theory and from my understanding you *should* be able to do a remap on any turbo or SC system. The reason being is that once the boost has been created by the Turbo or SC, the rest is left to the brains of the engine who determines how much of that boost is actually used vs how much goes to the waste gate.....

The problem lies with the intent behind the remap... Did the Software dev create the remap to allow for maximum boost or did he create the remap to use a great amount of boost and still remain within reasonable limits so as not to cause to much wear and tear on the engine components?

As an example, with the old Audi 1.8T engines there were (and still are) a lot of different brands of software to remap the engine. Some are terrible because they allow the engine to use the max boost and wear it out while others tried to maintain a balance between boost and reliability.

A bad remap is not always good, and a bad remap will cause you major issues down the line

Stick with a specialist tuner, and you will be fine Thumbs Up

100% agree.... Don't fry your engine just because you want to be the fastest guy to the shop.

Stick to Alive or BAS for RRS remaps. Lots of threads on site as to why. 40k plus miles on mine since Alive mapped it. No dramas due to remap. Much better drive than stock.

In all honesty I would not mess with mapping a Supercharged engine. There just aren't that many people who do it to create a solid baseline in terms of what is safe and what isn't

When I had my 02 Audi A4 yeah I had it mapped but that is because the 1.8T engine and frankly all of VWs Turbo engines have a cult following for tuning and mapping so it was an easier decision to make after some careful research. remember, that engine you have is worth 10K CDN to replace.... Don't know what it is in the UK... I'm spiff balling of course on the price but it's just to prove a point.

510HP is more than enough for me lol. Thumbs Up
