Anyone have a Carpathian Grey with Black Panoramic Roof Pics

Hi all,

Joined the site, been lurking for a few weeks....

I bit the bullet and ordered a RRS, chosen the Carpathian Grey but undecided whether to go for the Body coloured full size sliding panoramic roof.... or the Black Contrast full size sliding panoramic roof....

I tried a search on this Site & Google for photos but didnt manage to find anything decent... Embarassed

Does anyone have this Colourway with photos?

Cheers
NS

Go for black, especially if you're having privacy glass. If you've got gloss black trim, the combination will look awesome. (I wish I'd had it - I've got Waitomo Grey with black roof and gloss black trim).

I was also not sure whether to go for black sliding roof with Carpathian being such a dark colour. In the end I was glad I did because the pillars were going to be black anyway and I have privacy glass too.

The contrast is very clear on a bright day, not so much when cloudy and Carpathian looks almost black at night.

That looks fabulous. I'm coming to realise (because photos don't seem to reproduce grey colours accurately) that what I'd thought was Corris, and was my original choice, was probably Carpathian. In fact, I ended up with Waitomo, and your RRS in sunshine puts mine well into the shade, both literally and metaphorically. Mr. Green

I was running out of my allocated space for pictures on the forum so deleted my colour comparison gallery earlier this week. In that gallery I put pictures of dealer's samples of Carpathian, Corris and Waitomo side by side. Also compared to my previous Orkney grey RRS (such a low maintenance colour!). I had originally ordered Corris but changed to Carpathian before they even had the samples available (it was a newly introduced colour at the time). I went in to take a look as soon as they got Carpathian sample just in case it makes me change my mind again but I liked it. Samples don't look exactly the same as a real car though.

I found Waitomo a bit 'flat-ish' and with a hint of brown in it in a certain light. Don't know if it was just the sample or if that's the case in flesh too. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top

I've seen Waitomo look very slightly brown occasionally, but in sunlight it looks distinctly blue. The rest of the time, it's just flat grey.

I did this and to be honest you can barely see it.

HOWEVER,

Every vehicle that has a contrast roof gets an extra layer of paint at the factory. So, I'd do it every time now!

Don't think for a second longer - go for it. The contrast is obvious in all conditions except darkness and well worth the extra cost for the added sleekness. 2017 SDV6 Autobiography; Carpathian Grey, Ivory, Soft Close, Extended Grand Black.

It's no cost on an Autobiography so a 'no brainer'.

On the roof? I can understand that but surely not all over? 2017 SDV6 Autobiography; Carpathian Grey, Ivory, Soft Close, Extended Grand Black.

I've got Carpathian Grey and black contrast roof and happy with my choice, only downside is will be hard to keep swirls off the black trim if my Evoque was anything to go by.

Got it Gtechniq detailed a couple of weeks ago which should hopefully help.

Unless you plan to open it, then go for the fixed roof. The sliding roof has large bar that runs through the center of the roof, it effectively splits the sunroof into two windows and the bar blocks a lot of natural light.

The fixed roof is a full piece of glass meaning no bar and no split. SOLD - MY16 SDV6 Autobiography Dynamic - Fire Engine Red, Fixed contrast pan roof, TV, Dual Screen, 5+2, Privacy, Noble paddles.
