A quick note to make those on the forum aware that I had to return my 08 plate Java Black HSE (74,000 on the clock) to the selling dealer due to their inability to cure the numerous faults that have been present with the vehicle since it was bought. Despite numerous return visits over the last three months (each one a 50 plus mile round trip) and days without the car, each visit resulted in more problems.

The dealer eventually agreed to "buy the car back" at a huge loss to me "so he could fix the faults" and yet low and behold the car was back on his forecourt marked up for sale (with a huge markup) the very same afternoon making it pretty clear that NONE of the faults had been resolved and it would just be down to the next sucker to go through the same process again.

If you do look at the car then also be aware that supposed "full service" it had before delivery was only an oil change, the front wheels vibrate to the point of being undrivable at 70mph (wheels have supposedly been re-balanced twice!) windscreen is cracked (noted on MOT provide by dealer but not replaced) dealers response "why don't you do it on your insurance?" "Engine system fault" was not fixed but cleared as a fault code. "Special programmes not available" again cleared and not addressed. One (and only one) rear calliper replaced after I noticed burning smell and hot wheel...on the drive back same issue with opposite side... why not replace both? Loose trims panels as not refitted correctly. Actuators have seized twice!

The dealership in question is not an LR dealership but a supposed LR specialist based in the Dunecht area of Aberdeenshire. Rather than solve the issues they tried to palm me off with excuses and then resorted to "offering me a great deal on a newer car"... strangely enough something I didn't want to take!

Don't get me wrong I loved the car for everything it was and am looking for another (possibly a lease deal) but no-one should have to buy my old car with all of its faults.

Please avoid this dealer for your own piece of mind... and if anyone wants the extras I bought for the car then pm me (rear boot mat, dog (cat) guard, Thule Aero roof bars and feet and a full size spare wheel (20) and tyre. Will list on here once I've chilled out. D3 LHD - great car !

Forgot to add in the transmission shunt that occurs even under the most gentle acceleration... and the knocking suspension (front arm bushes?)... doesn't seem much point in having a warranty if the dealer isn't even bother to fix problems covered by it ! D3 LHD - great car !

Trading standards?

Having a think about that but they seem to be a bit of a toothless tiger from what people round here have said... sometimes it's better just to walk away and advise people to do the same BEFORE making the same mistake!

Also time to put some cream on my bottom  D3 LHD - great car !

I bet the wheel shake was down to it needing a new rack In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures

No reg number on the advert

I know this is horse bolted gate shut but good long test drives and faults fixed Before money handed over (small deposit maybe) or try to get indep inspected before, this always seems to harder than it sounds though

It is the car mentioned by riverblanche but those are old stock photos and it now has black alloys, black door handles and was very much there when I drove past earlier today and there was certainly no Sold sticker on it... again false advertising by the dealer !

Reg starts SW08... also beware that the V5 has the reg date as 01/03/2011...

I think Trading Standards will be getting a call on Monday !
