Key Fob not opening central locking and immobilising engine

I have a 1998 P38 and one morning the key fob stopped opening the central locking but the key fob sends a signal. I have manually started the engine using the EKA code and the engine starts so it was not a flat battery that caused the problem, then once the engine is shut off the immobiliser kicks in again. I know this is probably not the correct forum for this Range Rover but I don't know what else to do, has anyone got any advice or can you recommend someone who might be able to fix the problem in the London area?

Well, the red light flashes when the buttons are pressed and the batteries have been changed, so as far as I can tell its working. I only have the one key.

Sound's like you may need a new key, or at least need it reprogrammed.

I don't know of anyone in the London area I could point you towards unfortunately.

It may not be connected, so it may not help, but I had a similar problem several times on my wife's Evoque. I identified which fuse operated the keyless go, removed and replaced it, and it worked fine. It happened about three or four times in the life of the car, which was annoying, but the above cure always worked. (Indeed, I even kept a couple of spare 5 Amp fuses in the car in case I dropped one in the ridiculously inaccessible fusebox). You'd no doubt get the same result by disconnecting the battery, but that might cause you other inconvenience having to re-set things.

I had a similar problem , caused by myself, removing and reconnecting a fuse which Censored the BCM!
I used Belgravia Garage, despite the name, they are reasonable, specialise in Range Rovers and are very, very thorough and professional.
They will even do a free health check, no obligation but lots of recommendations. 2016 RRS SVR Estoril Blue
2005 4.2L Supercharged Java Black - gone but was my first love.

If we all point our RR's in the same direction and accelerate at the same time can we turn back time?
