Screeching Noise

from the front end of my 2011 RR and no its not the wife Laughing Laughing

I took my car into Guy Salmon and they said the 'rumbling' noise was probably down to the winter tyres WTF

After explaining my issue again in depth their reply was ' oh we must have got crossed wires' so booked in again Censored

So can anyone shed any light? I first heard the noise doing about 50mph 2 weeks ago, at first I thought it was wind noise from the 2 house bricks also know as wing mirrors however, I am now hearing it a lot more often at much lower speeds and sounds like its from the driver side.

I initially thought wheel bearing but dealer has said no rumbling or movement in the hub or the suspension. So I am thinking brakes/pads which were replaced before I took delivery approx. 10K miles ago

Answers on a postcard please Question Question

Update

I stopped and applied the EHB then when I set off again it seemed to be even worse. When I stopped at the next set of lights I put it on and off several times without moving and the noise stopped until I slowly manovered onto my driveway does anyone think the EHB is the issue and is it safe to drive till it goes in on the 5th of April just a bit worried about locking up

Update 2

Looks like I have found the issue by myself looks like a sticky caliper on the driver side rear grove in middle of disk and hardly any pad. Lasted approx 10 K miles as they were new when I took delivery Big Cry

Wonder if I can claim for the calliper on my warranty????

That's not a very long time for brakes surely. I suppose it depends on whether they decide the sticking caliper caused the problem or vice versa. Robin

Just had my O/S rear caliper replaced under LR extended warranty for the same sticking problem. LR also agreed (after a bit of to and fro discussion) to cover the cost of the pads as I had my rear pads replaced at its last service in 2016 and it had only done around 3k miles since.
If you have a receipt or other evidence of the pads being changed this will help with your claim. If you got your car from a LR dealer then there should be no problem. You may have to contribute towards discs though. I'm in the shed, I'll be back in the real world in a minute.

Sooooo

Car went In yesterday to my Indy. Guy Salmon said nothing wrong with bushes even though they were banging about since I bought the car from them Rolling Eyes and brakes were fine. Source found to be be handbrake binding and stuck calliper on passenger rear plus a stuck pad on driver rear so basically dealer in knutsford dudnt fix issue just masked it by fitting new pads and disks without cleaning the handbrake up properly. So bill for £982 which includes MOT for new set up on back with 2 new calipers disks pads and all greased and lubed correctly plus they advised on the front bushes so I said replace them and the back ones so I know I'm not worrying about them whilst I own the car. Not a cheap few days off and Land Rover say NO to any warranty claim so I'm right Censored Off with them for that. He mentioned summit about a leak on the rear ACE but said 90% tend to do this anyway so keep an eye on it. Hopefully no issues doing the bushes otherwise bill could go up for the labour but I will update when it's back and sorted then I will name them for future reference

They are an Indy in Sheffield
