Spec'd a new Sport just like mine and surprisingly it was only 500 or so more than nearly 2 years ago. That is before any discounts that may be available now. In fact the real difference is even less than that because I had to add the drive pro pack as you can no longer add blind spot monitoring and reverse traffic detection individually. The pack includes lane departure warning as well which I currently don't have so that's an extra on top of my current spec for ~500. So at least for me it is now proven that a proper spec Velar costs pretty much the same as an AB Sport (more if you take Sport discounts into consideration). Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top Gone: MY16 RRS2 3.0 SDV6 Autobiography Dynamic, Carpathian Grey & Santorini Black Sliding Pano/Ebony & Ivory 2 Tone Gone: MY13 RRS 3.0 SDV6 HSE Black Edition, Orkney Grey/Ivory Gone: MY09 RRS 2.7 TDV6 HSE, Santorini Black/Almond |

I'll strongly consider a RRV in about 3 years or hopefully there is an all new RRS at that point, which should be a step up on the RRV. |

To me, RRV compared with RRS is like town versus country. Obviously, they will put some of the new Velar technology into RRS3 whenever that comes, but I hope they don't soften its image too much. I've heard Disco owners express the same views about the D5 - it's gone a bit soft. |

^ +1, I think Disco 5 is a huge advance from the D4 and D3, not just in quality of the interior but all round and for anyone who needs the space and / or 7 seats it makes far more sense than a 7 Seater RRS (where the rear row is really only for very small children and you loose all the luggage space) or a Velar. Less costly as well......... 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Don't shoot the messenger, I was quoting someone else's opinion! I didn't like the previous Disco myself, and would prefer the D5 personally. What puts me off it is the huge back end (which looks disproportionate) when I don't need the space, and the rear view. I have no doubts about its technical capability, and I'm sure I'll see the local farmers getting them (and treating them like a tractor!) soon enough. Having sat in one, though, I think my RRS A/B is more luxurious. The better looking car in my opinion is the Discovery Sport, but that fails on other levels. (One thing that puzzles me, incidentally, is why the rear wiper is not hidden under the aerofoil like on other RR models). |

Yes, I much prefer the D5 myself (I even briefly considered one before sticking with the RRS order) but others I've heard have different views. I always thought previous Discos were ugly and utilitarian looking, albeit very practical and perfect for the market segment they aim at. What did impress me about the D5 is the seat operation system, which is awesome, especially the remote facility. (How come Discos and FFRRs get electric rear seats and RRS doesn't?). |

I like your sarcasm but you have a point. I have asked the mods to move this thread to Off Topic - Other Cars ![]() Gone: MY16 RRS2 3.0 SDV6 Autobiography Dynamic, Carpathian Grey & Santorini Black Sliding Pano/Ebony & Ivory 2 Tone Gone: MY13 RRS 3.0 SDV6 HSE Black Edition, Orkney Grey/Ivory Gone: MY09 RRS 2.7 TDV6 HSE, Santorini Black/Almond |

RRSport2 forums could do with some life being injected into them so suggest this thread be moved to there............... I think that the last posting there was in mid January. I'm surprised Martin keeps it going (or doesn't shut this section down.....) 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
