Hi Folks

I've got the chance of these wheels which I'd fit on my RRS while having my 20" ones refurbished, but will they fit? Any idea what vehicle they might have been fitted to when new?

They have 255/55 R18 Grabber UHP on them.

They look like the old P38 Hurricane style wheels to me, stud pattern will be the same but wouldn't know if they would clear the calipers, I doubt it though, probably need different wheel nuts as well.

Having a google search for Hurricanes, they certainly do look like the P38 ones which in itself is of interest to me for my mine as they are corroded. I've currently got L322 wheels on the P38 which need the spigot adaptors and nuts, so I should be good for them regardless if they were L322 or P38 fitment. From the online pictures there were L322 Hurricanes but it looks like they had a different shaped wheel centre, deep dished as they seem to be called.

With now buying another set of RRSport wheels off here today which are identical to what I have, I can now fit them while I sort my existing ones. Then after, I'll go for a summer and winter tyre set, all while maintaining the look that attracted me to the RRS in the first place .

The below pic is what's currently fitted to my P38, and as these require the spigot adaptors on my P38 I'm pretty sure they were off an early L322, can anyone identify them (sorry, I know it's an RRS forum, but you never know...), and they have 255/60R18 tyres on.
I'm hoping to fit one of these sets on my Defender as I'm rarely offroad with it now, I initially had the L322 ones on for a day (using adaptors) but decided they'd be better on the P38. Now I've also bought the P38 Hurricanes, I can swap if needed but it's the wheel offsets that's confusing me, I found the L322 wheels to be borderline for the arches so will the P38 ones be better?

Yep, early L322 had same ones fitted to my P38 at one stage, can't remember but I think I had 55 profile not 60's no clearance problems either.

Thanks Eaters, I'm sorted for the RRS wheels now, and it'd be divorce if I have another wheel set lying around, the wife just can't see the beauty in wheels as garden ornaments...

I'm now just trying to figure whats safest/best to put on my P38 and Defender due to the similarities in wheels, but there's all this offset, spigot sizes etc. to learn about. I've 16" Disco alloys on the Defender with a pretty aggressive tyre, but rarely offroad now so would like 18" with more road bias tyres - I'm dreaming that my ears might get more of a rest.

I quite understand your dilemma with wheels and tyres. I thought I knew all about them but there's another whole raft of stuff to know about things like the offset thingy as you say.
I'm sure that's what's caused my issues with the winter wheels on my RRS. I feel I need to go on a full training programme somewhere to understand all the various elements. I am thinking about buying some new 19 inch wheels (which will fit over the Brembos on my RRS), taking the tyres off my winter set, and then selling the old wheels. But I don't know yet what the full spec of any wheels I buy should be - and I'm not even sure who to ask.
I guess a wheel specialist in my area is going to get me sitting on their doorstep and 9am one morning with a whole bunch of questions for him.  Robin

I actualy fitted a set of sport supercharger rim's to my P38 with 275/45 x 20 tyres which I removed from my 09 plate sport, never gave me any problems or handling issues.

I imagine 275/45 20's would've filled the hole nicely.

I entered mine and those tyre sizes in an online speedo calculator and they were amazingly close, only 1 MPH out at legal speeds - with a 4.6 P38 I can't afford the fuel to drive at illegal speeds

So just so I'm aware, just incase... did you have to fit those thin spigot adaptors to get them to centre nicely on the P38? Are they the same fit as an L322? 13MY Range Rover Sport Autobiography SDV6 - mine

Yeah, just used the same spigot rings used for the L322 rim's, you will need Sport wheel nut's though, never had any balance or vibration at all either.
I now have a 5.0L S/C and compared to my old 4.6 it's very economical, I get around 15mpg instead of 12mpg so I know what you mean.
