Since I got the car on 1 March I've found a multitude of things in the handbook that don't apply to my car, so maybe this is one of them. (My seats don't slide forward either). I don't know which model or market some of the things we haven't got apply to, but mine is an Autobiography so presumably will have everything you get in UK models on it.

I believe the sliding rear seats are only applicable if you have the 3rd row of seating. Now

Not so - on my 2015MY HSE Dynamic 5 seater I can slide the rear bench forward and back all of about 4"

Open the rear passenger door and down at the seat cushion there should be a lever like on cars with manually adjusted seats, on the door side of the cushion that cannot be reached easily with the door closed. It is not immediately visible as it is black and blends in well with the seat mounting.

IIRC in the L494 section there is a thread about this with photos 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

All I've got in that position is a lever (ivory in my case, to go with the seat colour) which reclines and lowers the back. I can't see any other lever.

Ditto Donny, same as my last 3 RRS2's in various guises.

Tim, any chance of a photo?

I also only seem to have a leaver to drop the seats! Now

Same as above. Always thought the sliding 2nd row seat bases were a feature if you had 3rd row seats as well. The lever only drops the seat back. When I got the car I tried both pushing down and pulling up the lever in case it was multifunctional but nope. Very interested in finding out if I've been missing something. Sliding seat would be very useful. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top

Just checked my manual...

Apparently the sliding seats is only on cars with 3rd row.
On these there should be a lever at the front of the seat to slide the base back and forth! Now

Maybe I got something I didn't order................. must be very small seats as I have a spare tyre in the boot under the board in my car's boot!
I'm in away from the UK at the moment working and the car is at home so I won't see it for a couple of months more. Maybe I am mistaken and that is only the recline function, but I'm sure that the seat base moves too. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
