Can't eject CD's from stereo

Hi everyone, I have become the proud and (so far) very happy owner of a 2005 RRS 4.2 SC. It's my first venture into the world of LR and i have to say this site is fantastic and the level of knowledge and expertise must have saved the members £millions!!
It's a bit scary owning one of these for the first time especially as it's 12 years old with 112k on the clock (but full LR service history) waiting for something to go wrong that you know will be expensive!! But i am addicted now and touch wood seem to have got a good one.
it's also my first post so please excuse the long intro.

My question is this, I have the HK Logic 7 (with rear DVD, not sure that matters) and the CD player is jammed with CD's that can't eject. You can hear it trying but gives up after about 30 seconds. The display doesn't show how many CD's are in there either.
Does anyone know how to fix this or will it involve stripping the CD player down?

Many thanks in advance 2016 RRS SVR Estoril Blue

If we all point our RR's in the same direction and accelerate at the same time can we turn back time?

Welcome to the forum.

If the display doesn't show how many CDs are in the player, are you sure there are some in there. When I first got mine, I had issues loading CDs and thought it was broken but after reading the manual, I found it wasn't, it was just me.

Thanks for the welcome and your reply phillh.
there are definitely CD's in there as i have stuffed them in there myself!
The display does not recognise there are any in there (6 little circles that would be blacked out if recognised) and just makes desperate whirring sounds when i try to eject.

I'm guessing it's going to have to be a strip down then? 2016 RRS SVR Estoril Blue

Have you loaded correctly or forced them in ? Laughing

The procedure is odd. as you need to tell it what location you want the CD to sit in by pressing the number buttons 1-6 before insertion.

Can't remember the exact procedure. In the menu using the right hand knob ?

If it loaded OK, but will not eject, could it be that you have 2 CDs in one slot? In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures
Gone - A couple of RRS, A couple of Disco's. However thinking of another Sport.

Thanks for your replies.
The CD player didn't work since I got the car in Sept 16 so I can't say if CDs load ok or not.
I have tired ejecting and also loading CDs but once inserted they won't recognise or eject.
I guess there's not much I can do but take out the head unit and take them out manually.
Thanks for your help though! 2016 RRS SVR Estoril Blue

There are a couple of videos on you tube showing how to get the trim panels off to access the unit. They come off surprisingly easily.

Thanks everyone for your help. I thought it might be a strip down job but am thinking of changing the head unit anyway, have been researching it on here. I just wanted everything to be perfect which apart for the CD player, everything is.
Scarey, I might try that and if it doesn't work I'll try a big hammer! 2016 RRS SVR Estoril Blue

The head units in these cars are a joke considdering the cost of the car when new, hardly surprising to see so many people ditching them for after market units spiteful Range Rover Sport tdv8
