Radio turns on?

Hi Guys, a problem that has started recently. I'm driving along and suddenly the radio turns itself on at full volume and doesn't respond to the volume control. Have to turn it off then when turned back on I have to rotate volume control way above what would be the norm? Any clues?

We had that in a brand new at the tine 2008 discovery. The radio would go loud and you couldn't turn it down or off.
Had to gave two software updates before it was sorted
