Glossy Fitment

Can anyone tell me what this is on the "ceiling" of the car just above the front seats.

Looks like a light but doesn't come on.

(Probable a dumb question but I can't find it in the handbook)

Do you have rear screen entertainment?

I have this on mine also but as far as I am aware it is used to communicate with the Headphones of the rear screen entertainment.

Hi,

I believe it's the Infra Red Comms transmitter for "White Fire" headphones (Front or Rear)

Always fitted even if not used - otherwise a gaping hole in the headliner!

^+1, had the same thing as an option on both my Evoques. Needless to say I never used the headphones, they came as part of one of the "packs" of options. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I don't have it in mine, I've got the dome piece but it's a single piece that's the same colour as the headlining.

Mine s the same. Just the alarm sensor dome on the roof on a 2012 car. No rear entertainment fitted.

You don't need to have RSE to have the white fire. If you have the in dash TV and/or dual view screen and a built in hard drive to store dvd's on then the headphones were an optional extra so the shiney transmitter may not be on many cars as you didn't need the headphones to hear the audio. I hope when you purchased the car the selling garage/ previous owner left the headphones in the car as they are part of the package and are not cheap to replace at your friendly dealership accessory counter. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Yes the headphones were in the car so that answers the question.

(They are very bulky though and I can't imagine many people would wear them)

Thank to everyone again.....another mystery solved.
