Potential new owner, first time Range Rover

Hi, first post here. Currently looking at replacing my BMW for a Range Rover Sport, it'll be a face lift 3.0td. Am I right in thinking that the newer 3.0 is a much more reliable engine and car than the first generation RRS?

How well are they at taking miles? I currently commute 160miles a day and having had numerous BMW's all with high miles when I've sold them I'm curious to how well a RRS will take them.

Ideally I don't want to spend more than £20k so I doubt I'll get the newer 8 speed, most of the cars I've looked at on auto trader are between 70-85k miles what should I be looking at when viewing? I've got a few to see tomorrow and hopefully test drive a couple.

any help would be great espiaclly any RRS quirks, I'm usually pretty good with cars but having never really been around RRS all help is welcome.

I know but it's 90% motorways and to be honest I do stay in a hotel a couple of nights a a week so weekly mileage is usually around 500 and within the next month or 2 I'll be changing sites so the mileage will drop again.

Thanks, this is the first one I'm going to look at tomorrow morning. I've bought from the garage before as have other family members and they've always been great.

Thanks, I like the look of it and it's a one owner car with main dealer history, not sure whether it has dynamic though.

I'm also going to look at the below, the garage has about 8 RRS that are around my budget.

And then this at a garage around the corner that has about 12 RRS around my budget so I should have a good understanding by the end of the day.

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

You can always verify "Full Main Dealer Service" by getting the VIN from the bottom LH Corner of the front windscreen and then checking it on the Land Rover Topix Website. Should also tell you if any Technical Bulletins and recalls are outstanding, but if it has Full Main Dealer History then they should have been done anyway.......... 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Lux Orkney Grey

Hi E30 Sam,

I went from a BMW to and RRS 10 months ago and have not regretted it for a single day. There is something calming about eating up the miles in an RRS. Go for it you want regret it. All I would advise is buy an approved used for the warranty.

Regards,

Gone Audi A6 Salon 2.ltr Black Edition Daytona Grey- disappointing needs 6 cylinders
Gone RRS MY2010 HSE 3.0 TDV6 Stornoway Grey - written off!!
