Finally picked car up on Friday, Driven a few miles and absolutely love it, Better ride and smoother than the F15 X5, Just hope the reliability is as good. One down side says it has mood lighting but cant figure it out, doesn't look like its going to be as good as the X5.

LR's mood lighting is a waste of time, best set to the colour you prefer for the ambient lights and never touched again! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Yes Carpathian Grey with Stealth Pack and 22" Alloys. A lot smother than the X5 on runflats.

I've ordered a car in Waitomo Grey which is a Premium Metallic like Carpathian Grey. Ever since a salesman told me that Premium Metallics are a more matt finish, I've been concerned as to whether this is true, but I've never actually seen one in the flesh. All the Premium metallics seem to look duller in photographs, but my question is this - what are they like in real life and what is the actual difference compared with ordinary metallic?

The premium metallic is really good it more deeper if you get what I'm saying, certainly better than the crap Metallic paint Bmw use. I had Cosmos black on the BMW and any little marks showed up. time will tell.

Is it still as shiny/glossy as ordinary metallic?

Waitomo Grey is the only premium metallic that is matte and not very glossy. All the other's are mega glossy and shiny.

Here is Marianna Black standing next to a Santorini (non premium metallic) and the difference in gloss can be seen!

Why would Waitomo alone be matt? I think I may have made a mistake!

Thanks, although it doesn't look too matt in those photos. A different salesman at my dealer (after I'd ordered it) said it looks like primer! Wish I'd gone for my first choice (Corris) now.

When I say matte I mean it is not very metallic at all....It's a different looking car and does look nice with the stealth pack - did you go for that?
