And yours are "works" cars............. not your own, but I'm sure senior management don't like the engines to be ruined unnecessarily............... 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced

No, we don't control usage of management cars etc.

In my opinion, it's just good practice to run them in a bit

For those of you that don't know, there is also a quiet mode start option. Ign on, wait five seconds (car rcognises you want a closed valve start), go for start.

Cant seem to get that to work on tests I've done today a few times I've tried and can't tell any difference in the start process.

The purpose of this is protocol is to prevent the valves opening on the cold flare /high idle from an absolute cold start.

If the car is warm then it won't high idle

Just to be clear though - ign on (with foot off the brake) - wait 5 seconds - foot on brake - start. is that what you're doing?
