In the space of 3 days, I have kerbed my wheels twice. Once to avoid a dog running out into the road and the second time to let an ambulance pass. I have now washed the wheels and the kerbing and associated corrosion from previous kerb/alloy interface really shows up.
The wheels are diamond cut 20 inch; I plan to get them refurbished, so is there any advantage of powder coat over painting? Thought I'd go for gloss black.

Coating is 4/5 times thicker than paint and more hard wearing .
I must say my wheels were a bit of a state beforehand, kerbing and flaking paint
Acid dipped and stripped, then sand blasted and all kerbing repaired , before powder coating
I must say the results were truly stuning , I couldn't believe they were the same wheels

Ive had a set that came off my AB powder coated & it is better than paint in one respect as it doesn't chip as easy but if you do chip it then it's not as easy to touch up like paint.
