My local dealer has this fine RRS SVR on their forecourt but i wonder if the price isn't a bit steep for a used one in a less popular colour and I wondered if I should make a cheeky offer? It has sat on the forecourt for a while now and was bought by them as a demo so I assume that they will need to pay LR for it at the end of December. One thing I have noticed is how dirty the driver's seat white sections of leather are, really needs a good clean, which makes me wonder if has been driven carelessly by a load of wheel kickers................

Tim, no doubt it's been driven hard as it's a demo, but, they are built for it. Also the seats will be back to pristine when they sell it and it will come with a full warranty so anything wrong should be sorted as anything else would have to be as should be expected when buying a car from main dealers |

Thanks guys, Firenze doesn't seem to be all that common, seem to be Estoril, Black or Fuji ones that I mainly see. I'll see what can be done. GC are not franchised dealers so how do you stand with warranty stuff, my local guys are offering the usual full LR used car stuff but I am confused as to what happens with the 2 years approve used warranty on a car that is coming up to 3 months old so has still got 2.75 years manufacturers warranty anyway.... 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Tim, the 2.75 years warranty would stand no matter who sells the car because the warranty is a manufacturers warranty on the car itself. Obviously you would have the option to take out a warranty, as with other LR's at the end of the 3 year manufacturers warranty with LR as long as you met the criteria. |

Depends on how you look at it IR! Compared to Norway yes, compared to the USA we have a horrendous price! While it doesn't affect me yet, in April the tax on NEW diesel engined cars goes through the roof after years of being told "you need to buy diesels to save fuel" we are being told "you must not buy diesels because 9000 people a year die in London because of the pollutants emitted by diesel engined vehicles so we are going to tax the hell out of them." At present here there is a small price difference making petrol a little cheaper than diesel but 2 years ago there was 20-30pence a litre difference due to different taxing, but the collapse of the oil price reduced the differential. I fancied the petrol S/C v6 but it's claimed fuel consumption isn't that much better than the V8's but there is a quite large gap in the performance in favour of the S/C v8. Also as a sop to the legislators we now have a 2.0ltr 4 cylinder diesel Discoery5 coming and the same engine in the RRS will shortly be available............ I have no confidence that's these engines are up to the job or will have the longevity, being highly stressed, hard working little engines. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

After March 2017 first registration tax increases hugely on diesel cars and also annual VED increases on diesel engined cars registered after that date IIRC 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Yes just read that bit on the link. I've edited my post and made a comment about TDV8's car and if you buy a new PHEV you will have to pay full VED after April 1st.......... only purely Electric cars will pay no annual VED and no 1st registration fee 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
