There's one under the bonnet slam on the top of the radiator mounting it also has the paint shade and code details on it 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I think you will also find it stamped on the chassis under the drivers door area on a r/h/d vehicle not sure on l/h/d.

Why isn't the VIN viewable through the windscreen not allowed - after all it is not actually on the windscreen but is on the body panel underneath - really no different to the one under the carpet except it is under the windscreen.

Possibly because it can be tampered with quite easily and it isn't "permanently" marked on the car like being stamped into the chassis is. The one under the bonnet slam can also be changed as it is only stuck on or pop riveted. The one stamped on the chassis is immediately apparent from the grinding marks if it has been tampered with 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
